What I Feel When I Listen Those Were The Days by Mary Hopkin

With the year coming to a close and people waiting to see the New Year with fresh eyes I remember the lyrics of the song Those Were The Days by Mary Hopkin, this charming blonde lady.

It was years ago when I listened this impressive song by Mary Hopkin. I am still not sure about what impressed me. The song itself or the singer ?

I have always felt that this song somehow reminded me of someone from my past.I always felt I really missed someone when I listened it. However, I am not sure if all of you have the same feelings and emotions but what I have said below is what I feel when I listen to “Those Were The Days” by Mary Hopkin.

I prefer to hear this in solitude on my headset more than a speaker as it gives a lot of peace and soothes your heart. When we are young, we really don’t understand and value relationships and miss out on good friends. Whenever I listen to this song I really think back to those good friends with whom I spent a lot of time and missed out on them due to simple reasons like getting new thing to do. How strange it is to think back and not to find a reason as to why you ever disconnected from them. This song makes me remember all of those good times where we fight with friends but still end up having a drink together and enjoying each other’s company. Well more importantly this song made me value all my current friends and ensure that I lose them or miss them and think about them in future. Well this is one of my New Year resolutions too- never to miss out on friends irrespective of who’s mistake it is?
